Steve began a keen interest in music by annoying anyone and everyone within earshot, bashing his old man's drums at Mach 10 volume whilst still a sub-teenager in his native New Zealand. Finally Steve came to London with his first serious band at age 21. Steve and his production partner innocently recorded the first proper demos for Welsh newbies 'Stereophonics'. Things went on from strength to strength for 4 years and 3 albums, with the band clocking up 4 million record sales. Other notable credits include Tom Jones for Mama Told Me Not To Come and his Reload album; Ocean Colour Scene, the debut album for Athlete, Ronnie Wood and producing and writing on Corinne Bailey Rae’s debut album.
