John's most recent work for UPPM can be heard on CHAP373 - Crossing The Border

John Parricelli established himself in the 1980’s as one of the key figures on the British jazz scene, co- founding the jazz orchestra Loose Tubes, the first jazz ensemble to perform at the Proms. Since then, he has been active as a sideman, bandleader, composer and recording artist. He has worked throughout the world with, amongst others, Kenny Wheeler, Dave Holland, Norma Winstone, John Abercrombie and Charlie Haden, and featured as a soloist with the LSO, The Philharmonia and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. He has performed as a soloist with John Adams, and in Mark Anthony Turnage’s “Blood on the Floor” and “Scorched” throughout Europe and in the USA.
In addition, he has featured on over two hundred movie scores, including the Oscar winning Shakespeare in Love, Finding Neverland, Constant Gardener and Lord of the Rings.
He has also played on albums for artists including Duffy, Alison Moyet, K T Tunstall, Leona Lewis, Robbie Williams and Shara Nelson.
He has been writing music for Chappells and Universal for the last 15 years.
