Simon May composed the themes for EastEnders, Howards’ Way, Trainer, Castaway, Animal Park, ITV Seoul Olympic Theme and Brat Camp. He also created the musical ‘Smike’ and hit songs ‘Every Loser Wins’ (Nick Berry no. 1 hit in UK), ‘Always There’ (Marti Webb), ‘More To Life’ (Cliff Richard), ‘Summer of My Life’ (Simon May), ‘More Than In Love’ (Kate Robbins) and also co-produced ‘Knock On Wood’ (Amii Stewart no.1 hit in USA).
Simon was a Choral Scholar at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where he gained an M.A. Hons in French & German. He taught modern languages at Kingston Grammar School before signing to ATV Music as a professional songwriter.
Simon has received numerous awards and nominations for his music, including winning an Ivor Novello for 'Every Loser Wins' and three TRIC Awards for Best TV Theme for EastEnders, Howard's Way and Trainer.
In 2005 Simon co-wrote with Ben Robbins a number 1 hit song in Belgium. ‘Fragile Not Broken’ was performed by Natalie, the winner of the Belgian ‘Pop Idol’.
Simon currently enjoys a strong writing collaboration with Simon Lockyer and John Brant of Music On Screen.
